This book consists of four sections with great teachings and dynamic
activities focused on reaching children outside the walls of the church:
1. Vacation Bible School
entitled "Let's Follow Jesus", for two
different age groups, with teachings and craft ideas for 5 days, and a closing
program
2. 3 programs for children's
crusades, using skits, puppets and games
3. Puzzle pages and related
teachings based on 6 Mexican holidays during the year (easily adapted to
use with similar holidays in other countries)
4. Series of 12 simple teachings
suitable for home groups or clubs, with games and simple craft ideas
BENEFITS
This is an excellent book for small churches
that want to start or develop a children's ministry. If the Vacation
Bible School is followed up by a special outreach or Crusade every month
or two, along with individual families in the church starting a club in their
home, many children outside the church can not only be reached but also
discipled, and important relationships developed so that new families can be
ministered to.
The skits and stories can easily be performed with a
few regular children or teenagers. Being involved encourages them to
reach out and share their faith with others even at a young age.
A vibrant children's ministry stirs up other church
members to become more involved - such as by donating snacks, making
simple puppets, opening their home for a neighborhood club and visiting the new
families contacted.
