Mike in Kenya

Shirley was so blessed by her stay with Mike Mwanikha and his family in their humble home in Kimilili, Kenya, in early October 2006. They live in a rural community high up in Western Kenya near the Ugandan border. Mike contacted us, asking for help with children's ministry training and resources, after he was given one of our books of lessons for children by a friend visiting from England. That was back in January 2004, and it led to a friendship that has quickly grown through letters and, more recently, e-mails. Mike had been involved in children's ministry for a number of years, although he found very little support or interest from local pastors. He inspired us to start writing our children's ministry seminar by correspondence, and became the first to graduate from that course, receiving his diploma over two years later. As his children's ministry has developed more and more (especially using puppets and drama skits), God has given him great favor with churches from many different denominations, and he has begun to teach others. We are pleased that he has agreed to continue to partner with us in developing a branch of our children's ministry there in the Kenya/Uganda region. You can learn more about this fast-growing ministry on the page Kenya

Pastor Sika in Togo

We have come to know Pastor Sika and his wife Lucie over the past few years and feel very privileged to be working with this faithful and dedicated couple in Togo, West Africa. Their ministry is named Prisons, Orphanages and Children's Ministry, but the effects of this well-established and very organized ministry are felt across the whole country of Togo. Pastor Sika's help in translating our materials into French means that we can now make them available to many more people interested in children's ministry both in West Africa and other French-speaking countries. Shirley visited Togo in June 2008 and that visit led to a major new vision and ministry plan called the Joseph Project. Pastor H in India

In June of 2007 we received an e-mail from a young Indian evangelist who was doing children's ministry in Central India - although in fact he was often ridiculed for it, even by church leaders! After receiving our materials, he became even more convinced to focus totally on children's ministry, and within a few short months had even trained up a team to travel with him - both bringing the Gospel to children and training other children's ministers in that country that is entrenched in Hinduism and so desperately overpopulated that many children are turned out of their homes to live on the streets or in the jungles. Pastor Shakeel_0.jpg

Pastor Shakeel in Pakistan

Through Pastor H in India, we learned of Pastor Shakeel Anjum in Pakistan, who has developed a wonderful children's ministry in that difficult country. Through his "Children's Chapels" he is reaching hundreds of children with the Word of God, and so he was very excited to receive our teaching materials which he is hoping to translate into Urdu. He ministers especially in areas where there is much poverty and lack of schooling, and the needs are intensified by ongoing trouble from terrorist groups working throughout the region. If the future is to hold any hope for the people of that area, the children and younger generation need to hear the Gospel rather than be led down the path of violence by those around them.

Rev. Patrick and family_0.jpg

Rev. Patrick in Uganda

In late 2007 we were contacted by Rev. Patrick Muhumuza of Christ Vision Ministries in Fort Portal in Western Uganda. As we are learning more about his ministry and getting to know more of his ministry team, we are also happy to be able to connect him with Mike in Kenya and Bishop Gerald in Uganda. It is exciting that God is connecting us all up with others with the same passion for children's ministry! Learn more Rev. Patrick

Carlos in Uruguay

In the summer of 2008 we started to correspond with another enthusiastic children's minister, named Carlos Krenn in Montevideo. He and his wife have been involved in ministry for many years and feel especially drawn to Africa, which they hope to visit one day. Over the past few months their children's ministry has grown dramatically - partly because they faithfully make 5 or 6 trips every Saturday in an old van to pick up children to attend their weekly kids club!

Miriam in Argentina

In March 2004 Shirley stayed with Miriam and Omar Barrón and their two small boys in their tiny home on the edge of Rosario - the 2nd largest city in Argentina. She had contacted us through our website regarding obtaining our children's ministry materials, and we soon became close friends. Miriam was a school teacher at a Christian school and has published a number of lessons and teaching materials herself. She arranged for Shirley to teach a children's ministry seminar in Rosario and also to visit and address the children in two different Christian schools, as well as share in some churches. Like us, she also saw the great potential of linking with others involved with children's ministry around the world - especially to get children involved in missions and intercessory prayer at an early age. She and her husband now run a Christian bookstore. If you know Spanish and would like to contact her to receive updates of Christian news, events and prayer requests, e-mail Miriam

Jorge_1.jpg

Jorge in Chile

In April of 2004 Shirley was blessed to stay in the home of Jorge and Lorena Santis in the beautiful city of Santiago, Chile. Like others, Jorge had contacted us about children's ministry resources after seeing our website, and we started to correspond and share ideas. He and Lorena have three lovely daughters and have also been involved with children's ministry for several years, especially holding kids clubs in their home. They have worked faithfully with several churches doing all kinds of outreaches and children's programs, and he quickly invited Shirley to come and teach a seminar there in Santiago. We had a great turnout, even though it was Easter weekend, and Jorge has been a wonderful help as our "ministry contact" in Chile, making our children's ministry materials available to others there who need resources. If you speak Spanish and would like to contact Jorge and Lorena, you can e-mail them: Jorge and Lorena
