Give a donation to help

As we have said previously, regular prison inmates in Egypt rely on family
and friends to bring in food, clothing, and blankets, and give money into their
prison account to pay for medicines, fines and so on, but inmates who are from
other countries rarely have anyone to help them. Our contact, Father Monir,
works under the authority of the Anglican/Episcopal Church of Egypt and has
developed a ministry especially to help those foreign inmates who are
Christian and speak English, as he is able to communicate with them.
True Freedom Outreach ministry works in conjunction with Father Monir, and
we help promote and coordinate the ministry here in North America. We regularly
send to him the funds generated by donations from churches and individuals around the
country, to help meet the inmates' many needs.
Apart from the many daily needs for additional food, clothes and
medicines, the most pressing need at present is to help the
12 or so inmates who need to pay their fines before being released this
year. Most inmates have to pay a fine of around $1,700 US
and if they do not do so by their release date, they may have
to remain in prison for up to another 5 years! In a poor country such as
Egypt, this is a terrifying situation for these men who have already spent 15-20
years incarcerated in a foreign country!
In addition, these brothers have to pay for their
own airfare in order to return to their homeland! Truly, the financial
needs are great, but we believe that if many people here in North America will
do even just a small part, the Lord will multiply it to meet the needs!
Matthew 25:39,40 says: "'When
did we see you sick, or in prison and go to visit you?' The King will reply, 'I
tell you the truth. whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of
mine, you did for me.'"

A special challenge!
"The cup of water commitment"

Matthew 10:42 (Amplified Bible) - "And
whoever gives to one of these little ones (in rank or influence) even a cup of
water because he is My disciple, surely I declare to you, he shall not lose
his reward.”
These imprisoned brothers may be considered by some as
“little…in rank or influence”, but instead of just READING their
testimonies, if they visited you personally to tell their testimony, would YOU
be willing to give them a cup of cold water? How about a bottle of water –
or a can of Coca Cola? Would you be willing to give them one
EACH WEEK?
If you answer “Yes”, then we want to challenge you
to the “Cup of Water Commitment”!
The “cup of water” (or can of Coca Cola)
translates to 50 cents (or equivalent in your country). The “commitment”
is to give it every week without fail – losing interest? Is it the amount of
money, or the commitment? Sadly today many Christians would rather give a
one-time gift of $10 than have to remember to give 50 cents each week. BUT
THAT’S THE POINT!! We NEED to remember (and pray for!) our imprisoned
brothers every week!!!!
Sadly many Christians today are afraid of making a
“commitment”, even such a small one. They are “too busy” to be
bothered or “tied down”, even to something as small as 50 cents per week.
Yet commitment is the basis of any relationship – how can we say we have a
relationship with our brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ around the
world if we are unwilling to be committed?
Are YOU willing to make the “Cup of Water
Commitment”?
It’s simple – just put 50 cents each week
into a cup (why not involve the whole family including the kids?... or
your Sunday School class or class at school?) and as you
do so, say a prayer for our brothers and sisters around the world who are
imprisoned or suffering for their faith. After all, who can say "no"
to just 50 cents? Then at the end of each month, empty
the cup and write a check to IMOF Inc, with a note saying it’s a donation
for the TFO ministry. We’ll make sure the money is given to the prisoners in
Egypt to help meet their many needs.
